Specialists for the individual diseases are often scarce and frequently the leading experts are even based abroad. This fact and the incredible amount of research results, which are often inaccessible or incomprehensible to patients as specialised publications (usually in English), make access immensely difficult.

Therefore, Kindness for Kids supports five projects each year in order to promote specific exchange and networking in the context of self-help. The focus here is on targeted knowledge transfer between the various parties, which usually takes place at smaller conferences, symposia or through training courses. With a sum of up to €2000 per sponsored project, Kindness for Kids aims to disseminate insights from academic research to affected parents.
