Seize the day, and put the least possible trust in tomorrow. - Horace
The first “Dinner for Charity” took place in 2009 with famous chef Holger Stromberg, in order to generate donations and raise public awareness for rare diseases.
With the help and support of our sponsors, we were able to welcome 170 guests from the worlds of economy, medicine, arts and culture. The welcome reception with cocktails and finger food was followed by an exquisite 4-course-menu and perfected by an exclusive artistic program, not to forget our premium-prize raffle.
The foundation generated proceeds of around 20,000 Euro and achieved print and TV coverage of over 20,000,000 readers and viewers. Due to this success, Kindness for Kids turned the Dinner for Charity into a regular event. So far, three more dinner events, accompanied by artistic programs, took place - in 2010, 2012 and 2015.
The fourth Dinner for Charity in 2015 was held in a new location, at the ‚Alte Kongresshalle‘in Munich, which belongs to the former fairgrounds. After its restoration based on conservation practice standards and with utmost modern technology, the Alte Kongresshalle was reopened in 2007. The building provides a ballroom-like hall of 500qm (5,000sq ft) with stage and gallery. Michael Käfer of Feinkost Käfer with his team was the cooperation partner, tantalizing the taste buds of the dinner guests with his culinary art work.
The proceeds of this event went to an urgent social project, a family vacation assisted by therapists in 2016 as well as to the funding of two important symposia about knowledge transfer between scientists and affected families.
The Dinner for Charity 2015 was a special one, celebrating the foundation’s 12th anniversary. The event had plenty to offer, including many unexpected surprises and outstanding performances. Not to mention the proceeds of 30,000 Euro, which meant a substantial success to Kindness for Kids:
